What if Shakespeare was born not in the 16th century of England but in the golden era of the Melaka Empire where its maritime culture and society hosted all people not only from the region but the entire world? What if The Comedy of Errors was set here? These parallels will be the basis of our interpretation. It has many common traits in terms of society, politics and economy in the 16th century Melaka and England.
