Elena Pellone is the Artistic Facilitator of the Venice Shakespeare Company and Anərkē Shakespeare. She is a graduate of Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (Shakespeare), the University of Melbourne, has an MA from Shakespeare Institute, where she is currently completing her PhD on Directorless Shakespeare, mounting and acting in directorless Shakespeare productions in UK, Italy and Germany. She has taught Shakespeare, given papers and directed seminars internationally, published in Shakespeare Survey, Skenè, Cahiers Élisabéthains and is a theatre reviewer for Shakespeare. Elena appeared as Nerissa in the historic Merchant of Venice,presented for the first time in the Venetian Jewish Ghetto in 2016. Elena performed a one-woman West End show in the world premiere of ­Phaedra I, 2019, appeared as Hecuba in Trojan Women at Holy Trinity Church, Stratford upon Avon, where she played Lady Macbeth in Anərkē Shakespeare’s production, 2020. Elena is due to direct Othello in Venice, 2021.
