THE DEATH OF KINGS

The Death of Kings is an adaptation by Irwin Appel containing material from eight Shakespeare history plays from Richard II through Richard III. It is a true ensemble piece, woven together with narration, choral work, live music and sound, bold physicality and actor-generated theatricality. It has been performed before in different versions for Naked Shakes in Santa Barbara, California, Prague Shakespeare Company in Prague, Czech Republic and Southwest Shakespeare Company, at the prestigious Taliesin West in Scottsdale, Arizona and the Madison Center for the Performing Arts in Phoenix, Arizona. We will be reworking the script and adding some new material created especially to premiere at the Verona Shakespeare Fringe Festival.
