SHAKESPEARE’S VILLAINS

A masterclass in evil, the play is an exploration and analysis of Shakespeare’s most villainous characters- Iago, the Macbeths, Shylock, Richard III… characters who are inherently evil, others whose situation leads them to evil deeds, others at the mercy of an evil society. Incisive insights into the psyche give way to Shakespeare’s own words which explode into the auditorium.

This monodrama is conceived as an acting tour de force through the pantry of Shakespeare’s greatest villains: A great character study and at the same time a fascinating history lesson. The idea is to give the audience insight into the minds of Shakespeare’s evil characters while using the performance space in the spirit of the Bard: A bare stage, no music, lights as available in the venue, all props used fit into one suitcase, with one exception there is only the costume worn from lights up.
