In Shakespeare’s darkly terrifying romantic fairy tale, King Leontes falls into a jealous rage, threatening his wife, Queen Hermione, with death by fire for something she actually hasn’t done. Time brings a terrible cost until a miracle is wrought by a long-lost Princess who brings love and healing into a wounded world.
Shakespearea’s original playscript is translated into accessible, modern language by playwright Tracy Young, adapted and directed by Lisa Wolpe, and performed by a talented ensemble of eleven international actors.
This project made possible by the Play On! Translation Project (USA), Prague Shakespeare Company (Hungary), and the Verona Shakespeare Fringe (Italy).
